SERIES INFO

1) PROOF OF THE POWER
Proof of the power of the Gospel is that justified by grace alone through faith alone, the born-again believer does the will of God by His transforming power alone, and walks in newness of life.

2) SOURCE OF THE POWER
Jesus is the source of the Gospel’s power. He started something wonderful in you, and He will finish the job! He will do for you what He says He will do.

3) CHANGE THE SUBJECT
What we are not able to do, save and transform ourselves, Jesus does for us and in us. However, what we are able to do, God expects us to do. That’s faith in action!

4) BY NO MEANS!
Some folks think that God’s Law which promises life but proves “to be death to me” (Romans 7:10) is the problem and, therefore, has been abolished. But the Apostle Paul tells us that the Law is not the problem. Sin is the problem!

5) CONSIDER YOURSELVES DEAD
The problem for which Jesus died on Calvary was not God’s Law but human sin. Grace sets us free from sin and its power. God’s law condemns sin, not itself. Being dead to sin because of Christ the believer in Christ is released from the condemnation of the Law, not from the Law itself.

6) SEE TO IT!
Human sin is the problem, not God’s moral law. That’s what Jesus came to fix. Not just to forgive when we disobey God’s law, but to empower us by His indwelling Spirit so that we are enabled to obey it. Genuine faith always produces the desire and willingness to obey. What then was nailed to the cross?

7) NO LONGER STRANGERS
If Jesus knew that the moral law of God would be nailed to His cross and thus abolished, He would have lied when He said: Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law.” But Jesus doesn’t lie!

8) LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE
Love is the essential sign of the covenant relationship which has always had reciprocal obligations. That’s why Jesus said “If you love me, you WILL keep my commandments.” (John 14:15) How is that possible? By the power of the gospel of grace!
