1. TWO REASONS TO REJOICE
Listen to the testimony of Epaphroditus who delivered Paul’s letter to his home church. You will discover two reasons to rejoice: God has started a good work in your life; and He will be faithful to complete it!
2. REJOICING IN THE MIDST OF ADVERSITY
The apostle Paul learned to rejoice even in the midst of difficult situations. He discovered that God was able to work for good in the lives of those around him and also in his own life. You too will rejoice when you discover that God is able to work good even in the midst of bad situations!
3. JOY UNSPEAKABLE AND FULL OF GLORY
When you discover how much God loves you and you accept that love so completely and perfectly revealed in Jesus Christ, a remarkable change will occur in your life. Not only will you love God with all of your heart and love others more than life itself, but you will also be filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy!
4. REJOICE TOGETHER
We can do nothing to save ourselves but we can cooperate with God as His marvelous work in our lives. When we see brothers and sisters in Christ shining like the stars, reflecting the radiance of Jesus, we can rejoice together because God is at work in our midst!
5. REJOICING IN JESUS ALONE
In the middle of this Philippian letter, the apostle Paul holds up a sign that reads “Beware of the dogs!” Who are these “dogs” and what is the false gospel that they proclaim: Discover that all “additions” to the gospel are “rubbish.” Jesus is all you need.
6. ALWAYS REJOICING
Is it realistic to rejoice in every situation? It depends on your focus. Once you discover Paul’s strategy, you will be able to rejoice at any time and in any situation.
